ST LUKE’S BOOKSTALL

A new year at the Bookstall ….

There’s a new book by Paula Gooder.  This Risen Existence.  This is an Easter book.  It would make a good Lenten study.  Dr Paula Gooder is to be the keynote speaker at the Mowatch National Conference 2010.

We have other books in stock which would suit Lenten study, eg Pilgrim Road: A Benedictine Journey through Lent by Albert Holtz OSB.

Also suitable for a study group: We Are Created by God: exploring our identity and relationships.  This is a Mothers’ Union Discussion Booklet.  We have one copy of the participants’ guide in stock, but leaders’ books are also available.

Other recommended books:

Stout Hearts for Steep Hills by Joy Brann AM.  The story of Australia’s Bush Church Aid Nurses.  The proceeds from sales of this book will go to our ABM Project for this year.

White Christ, Black Cross by Noel Loos.
Noel Loos frames the churches’ missionary outreach to Aboriginal people within the reality of frontier violence, government control, segregation and neglect.
Aboriginal people on the missions responded to white Christianity as part of their enforced cultural change and within the missions’ changing circumstances.
As missionary control diminished, Aboriginal people responded more overtly and autonomously: some regarding Christianity as irrelevant, others adopting it in culturally satisfying ways.

Also – half price Advent calendars – get in early.

So, visit the Bookstall on your way to morning tea.
