Book Review by Noel Jeffs

‘Net Loss   The Inner life in the Digital Age ‘ by Sebastian Smee, published in the journal Quarterly Essay Issue 72 2018. Towards the ending of his fifty six pages of essay Smee says “but it may be that even, in this brave new interconnected world we can find ways to pay attention to our solitude, daring to hope that we might connect that solitude to the solitude of others.” It is a daring essay which can be relished and is inexpensive. It can be purchased in the Better Read than Dead bookshop and it’s a good read for anybody who uses a mobile phone and values having an inner life and a good read.
