Our Archbishop, Dr Glenn Davies, has asked that on Sunday 25 November all churches in the Diocese provide an opportunity to acknowledge the failures of the past with a local apology to any survivors of sexual and other forms of abuse who may be present or known by members of our congregation. Accordingly, we will be participating in this apology and praying for all victims of abuse on that Sunday.
Our St Luke’s Play Group continues to meet each Monday between 10.00 a.m. and 12 noon for 0-5-year-old children and their Carers.
Saturday 24 November 2018 – our Christmas Fair please put your name on the list in the hall during morning tea today to help set up or on a stall or closing down at the end of the day. Please take pamphlets for family and to put in letterboxes in your street, if you live locally.
Christmas Hamper competition – last opportunity is Wednesday this week! Please place your items in the box in the foyer TODAY, if possible We are in need of things!!
Toys & Tucker – just a reminder that we will be collecting new toys and foods from now until early December (not chocolates or anything that melts)
Quiet Day – Sat 1st Dec at Golden Grove will now commence with morning tea at 10 a.m. for 10.30 start. The Day will be conducted by Bishop Peter Watson. RSVP to Fr Philip if you are coming and please bring your own lunch. Tea and Coffee and biscuits will be provided for morning tea.
Tuesday evenings 4. 11 and 18 December – Advent Study at 7 p.m. at Metropolitan Community Church, St Luke’s Enmore and St Joseph’s Newtown in that date order) – lead by clergy of the respective parishes.
Sunday 16 December Nativity Play 6.00 p.m. – the play without rehearsal.
Sunday 23 December is our visit to the Stanmore Nursing Home (singing carols and if you wish to contribute money towards the gifts that we purchase, please place it in envelope provided by the Welcomers over the next 5-6 weeks).
Christmas Day after the 9.30 a.m. service – a Community meal in the hall? Please see Noel Jeffs if you would like to be part of this Christmas Day meal in attending and assisting in organizing.
