Many thanks to St Luke’s for its kind pro­mo­tion of my two books but espe­cially for the dona­tions, via the par­ish and ABM, for Gaza’s Al-Alhi Hos­pit­al.  People sup­port vari­ous causes includ­ing ABM’s oth­er major appeals, but our Church in Jer­u­s­alem and the “Jesus Land”, is espe­cially encour­aged by con­tinu­ing over­seas sup­port for the hos­pit­al (that receives no Hamas fund­ing), and its many patients and staff.  I am still a Bank­stown Hos­pit­al chap­lain (just — with my fail­ing heart near­ing 90 and get­ting more bolsh­ie), appre­ci­at­ing also your Fri­day pray­ers for all hos­pit­al min­istry, and very much treas­ur­ing this par­ish.                 Fr John Bunyan

Sunday 13^th July at 6.30pm — Oxford Move­ment Even­song:

The Par­ish of Christ Church St Laurence (812 George St, Hay­mar­ket) extends an invit­a­tion to a Fest­iv­al Even­song, Pro­ces­sion, and Bene­dic­tion on Sunday 13 July at 6.30pm.  This ser­vice will com­mem­or­ate Oxford Move­ment Sunday, giv­ing thanks for the litur­gic­al tra­di­tion with­in Anglic­an­ism.  The ser­vice will be fol­lowed by light refresh­ments.  No RSVP required.  All wel­come.

Sat­urday 16th August at 2:30 pm — the Par­ish will be hold­ing a “Win­ter­fest” high tea and con­cert, in the par­ish hall. 

This is a major fun­draiser for the par­ish, and we would value your attend­ance and assist­ance if pos­sible.  Unlike last year the ser­vice of food will be sim­pli­fied to a main buf­fet table where you will help your­self to hot food, then scones and cakes!  We will how­ever serve the mulled wine and tea and cof­fee to your tables.  The con­cert pro­gram is yet to be arranged but we are sure it will be very enter­tain­ing!
