Chanting the psalms
St Luke’s in almost unique in Sydney in that you as the congregation chants the psalms. I think you will agree that the last two months has been an interesting experience. It would be a pity if we lost that tradition.
If you would like to learn to chant the psalms traditionally or have a refresher, Rajah with some assistance from Kathy and Katherine is willing to give some pointers at two sessions on Sunday 10th and 31st August after morning tea. So, if you’ve ever wondered what · |- † * — : , l and ll, double chant and single chant mean please come and join us. No singing or other music experience necessary.

Saturday 16th August at 2:30 pm — the Parish will be holding a “Winterfest” high tea and concert, in the parish hall.
This is a major fundraiser for the parish, and we would value your attendance and assistance if possible. Unlike last year the service of food will be simplified to a main buffet table where you will help yourself to hot food, then scones and cakes! We will however serve the mulled wine and tea and coffee to your tables. The concert program is arranged, and we are sure it will be very entertaining! Cost is $40 pp and $35 Concession/Student
To book a table please contact Ruth Champion on Mob: 0400 166 041

Please do not bring electrical goods unless they are new and in a box. All items may be left inside the hall at the rear near the Opshop interior storage area door. Please do not leave any goods outside. If you can spare a few hours to help once a week or even once a fortnight, please speak with Andy Serafin, Stephen Gates or Ruth.
