Many thanks to our fun­drais­ing com­mit­tee for organ­ising our Christ­mas in July High Tea yes­ter­day but spe­cial thanks to those who came to set up the hall, and heart­felt thanks to those who baked, pre­pared food and/or served, washed up and cleared away.  Thanks also to Susan Deas who provided joy­ful music on the piano and to Ann Petersen and oth­ers who provided raffle and door prizes!  It was our 3rd High Tea and now seems to have become an annu­al fun­drais­ing event in our par­ish.  Thank you from the War­dens for your sup­port, either by way of attend­ance or dona­tion.

TODAY — There will be a short meet­ing of the Fun­drais­ing Com­mit­tee at the con­clu­sion of the ser­vice and morn­ing tea in the chapel regard­ing an apprais­al of the High Tea and an update on the War­dens’ Din­ner.

A gen­er­al invit­a­tion is exten­ded to every­one who would like to come to the pub for lunch at the War­ren View (2 Stan­more Road, Enmore) after the ser­vice and morn­ing tea of a Sunday.  We look for­ward to see­ing you there.

Thanks to every­one who sup­por­ted our ABM appeal at the Saus­age Sizzle Fun­draiser last week; we all enjoyed the food and fel­low­ship.  We took an amaz­ing $752 which will go to the ABM Tax Appeal 2026 — For Life in all its Full­ness. Brad Chap­man spoke from the heart last Sunday about the work of ABM on the 5 Marks of Mis­sion and men­tioned in par­tic­u­lar the grand­par­ents who were attempt­ing to raise a grand­daugh­ter after her par­ents were killed. ABM’s devel­op­ment pro­jects are cru­cial for good folk like these, help­ing them to be self-sup­port­ing and to find a life of dig­nity.

A spe­cial thank you to Rick Prat­ley for being our chef along with Andrew Pat­ter­son — there was plenty of onion and not a burnt saus­age to be seen! Thank you to the Chiew Fam­ily for shop­ping for extra sup­plies, bring­ing the BBQ across and put­ting it under shel­ter and to Rachael, Bryson, Belinda and Mat­thew for the sweet del­ic­acies and fruit! And thank you to Jo Gor­don who sup­plied all the bottled drinks and water!  Last, but not least, thank you to all who helped clear up!

Sunday 18^th Octo­ber – St Luke’s Patron­al Fest­iv­al

On Sunday 18 Octo­ber we will be cel­eb­rat­ing our St Luke’s Patron­al Fest­iv­al with a spe­cial guest preach­er and former rect­or, The Very Rev’d Steph­en Wil­li­ams, Dean Emer­it­us of Christ­ch­urch Cathed­ral New­castle and known to a few long-stand­ing parish­ion­ers.

Steph­en and his wife Sue will join us for lunch after the ser­vice — this will either be a shared lunch or a pub lunch — yet to be con­firmed.
