St Luke's Anglican Church in Enmore a lively, inclusive welcoming liturgical community

Notices — Sunday 9th August, 2020

NOTICES:

We have received the following advice from the Archbishop this week.  Fr Jeff asks that we please all take note and co-operate in a spirit of mutual respect and care.

It is now recommended that everyone attending church should wear a face mask. It is permissible for those preaching or leading the service to remove their mask temporarily in the conduct of their ministry, but should be 3m distant from the congregation while so doing. This is in line with the general advice that where social distancing is not possible, then a face mask is recommended, as it is for indoor settings with a higher risk of transmission.

While we should be encouraging the wearing of masks in church, it is not mandatory. We must not, therefore, prohibit entry to those who choose not to wear a mask to church.”

Please avoid attending church if you have any symptoms which are listed on the NSW Health website:

Symptoms of COVID-19 include:

  • fever (37.5 ° or higher);
  • cough and/or shortness of breath (difficulty breathing);
  • sore throat;
  • loss of taste and/or loss of smell;

Other reported symptoms of COVID-19 include fatigue, runny nose, muscle pain, joint pain, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting and loss of appetite.

Get In Touch with Fr. Jeff if you are struggling with the present situation or are in need of prayers for friends/family.  The Wednesday healing service is a good opportunity to come to Church to pray for healing and peace for yourself and loved ones.

Sunday School/Children’s Ministry has now resumed with social distancing and hygiene measures in place.  Please come along and join us

Remember Mission Giving: The parish has benefited greatly from members switching to electronic giving.   Thank you all again for this.  However, with this change, our mission giving may have been neglected.  If this is so, you can leave your mission giving at the church in an envelope clearly marked to ABM or other mission agency.  The Website giving button also allows us to nominate a donation to ABM as well.  In the current circumstances, our mission agencies, like the churches, are in greater need.  Please remember to support ABM and our other missions.

Food for our little friends — Thanks for the food scraps which are now not going to landfill and so reducing the production of harmful greenhouse gasses, especially methane.  If you would like some worm castings for your garden you can leave a bucket or bag at the rectory with your details.  Our little fertilizer factories have been doing a wonderful job and the fruit of their labours is now available.
