Wed 5th April (Wed­nes­day in Holy Week) — 2023 Chrism Eucharist: 

Held at Christ Church St Laurence, George St, Sydney, at 11.00am.  Bish­op Michael Stead will be the cel­eb­rant.  A gen­er­al invit­a­tion is exten­ded to clergy, par­ish read­ers and parish­ion­ers to attend the ser­vice.  All clergy and par­ish read­ers are invited to robe and renew their vows dur­ing the liturgy.

A light lunch will be served fol­low­ing the service.

Thurs 8th June 2023 — Par­ish Vivid 2023 Lights Sight­see­ing Cruise
Brett seeks expres­sions of interest.  As in 2019, the cruise will be oper­ated by Cap­tain Cook Cruises.  Depar­ture is expec­ted to be from King Street Wharf 1 at 5.45pm.  The cost is $29 per adult.  Please see the link for more inform­a­tion and con­tact Brett by Sunday, 16 April 2023.

The par­ish week­end retreat at Stroud (21st-23rd April) is now fully booked.  Unfor­tu­nately the Fran­cis­can Bros are unable to accom­mod­ate any addi­tion­al attendees.

 

 

The par­ish has recently heard that a former parish­ion­er Hiro Andrew Itadani died in Japan in July, 2021.  While at St Luke’s, he was an organ­ist and con­trib­uted gen­er­ously to the life of the par­ish.  After leav­ing St Lukes Hiro moved to Cairns and then later to Kur­as­hiki, Japan where he worked in a demen­tia facil­ity.   May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Sunday, 25 June 2023 at 3pm — St Luke’s Young Organ­ists Series:  Samuel Giddy, win­ner of the Open Sec­tion of the 2022 Sydney Organ Com­pet­i­tion.  Fur­ther details to fol­low.  Keep the date!

 

ST PAUL’S PANTRY needs food, health and clean­ing items: A bas­ket is in the church foy­er for donations.

 

Food for our worms – Leave your worm food gifts at church on Sundays or drop off dur­ing the week.  Please remem­ber to remove the strings from teabags.  (NB — no dairy, cit­rus, onions or meat please).
