St Luke's Anglican Church in Enmore a lively, inclusive welcoming liturgical community

Notices — Second sunday of Advent

Tonight: Ecumenical Advent Prayer Service at 7.00pm — This will be kindly hosted by St Paul of the Cross, 532 New Canterbury Rd, Dulwich Hill parish with refreshments afterwards (bring a plate to share).

This week: Advent Study – Monday at 7.30 pm & Wednesdays after Morning Tea: Come along for some lively discussion and fellowship on a Monday Evening.  The study we are using for Advent discussions is the Advent and Christmas “Sacred Space Booklet”.

Next week: Sunday 15 December: we will be giving gifts to our young people during our 9.30am service.

Last week for Donations of money are requested in lieu of gifts: We will not be collecting presents/gifts this year for Anglicare ‘Toys’n’Tucker’ and ‘Stanmore Nursing Home’.  Instead the Parish Council has decided to collect donations of money and use this to purchase gift cards (Toys’n’Tucker) and small food gifts (Stanmore Nursing Home) on behalf of the parish.  If you would like to donate money, please place it in one of the envelopes provided in the foyer.  Your donations can also be placed in the Church Account by Direct Credit with ‘Toys’n’Tucker’ or ‘Stanmore Nursing Home’ as the reference.  Thank you.

Christmas cards ($10 per pack)available from the Parish Resource Centre.  Please see the Manager, Stephen Gates during Morning tea.

Our Play GroupFinishes for 2019 on Monday 16th December: For carers of young children is continuing in the hall Mondays 10 a.m. to 12 noon.  Will recommence on Monday 3rd February, 2020.

Hospitality volunteers: Thank you to Elizabeth and Ellenor Fleming, and Diana Jefferies for taking on Amrit and Brett’s Hospitality days.  Now if we could only get three or more other people for another weekend, our hospitality teams would not feel so burdened.  YOU can do this – no effort needed and all food can be bought and the cost reimbursed.  Teams often swap due to commitments as well!  If you are interested, please see Ruth Champion.
