Wel­come to all our vis­it­ors today.  The fam­ily and friends of the Bap­tism fam­ily are invited to join the fam­ily in the hall for refresh­ments and lunch. Parish­ion­ers and any oth­er vis­it­ors are invited to the rect­ory garden for morn­ing tea and a BBQ lunch.

Tues­day 15th Septem­ber — Bible Study is can­celled due to Fr Philip attend­ing Syn­od.  Bible Study will resume on Tues­day 22nd Septem­ber at 7.30pm when we will be fin­ish­ing the Book of The Rev­el­a­tion to John.

Syn­od

This week Monday-Wed­nes­day 14–16 Septem­ber and Monday-Tues­day the fol­low­ing week, Syn­od (the par­lia­ment of the church) will be con­duc­ted in the Wes­ley Centre, Pitt Street.  The MOW mem­bers and friends will gath­er out­side Syn­od from 2.30 pm on Tues­day and Wed­nes­day of the first week only, to give out pamph­lets mainly in rela­tion to our Nation­al Con­fer­ence in Can­berra in Novem­ber.  Some of our mem­bers are Syn­od rep­res­ent­at­ives and will be attend­ing the ses­sions which com­mence at 3.15 p.m. MOW has obtained police per­mis­sion to do this, so all is in order. If you would like to come and stand with us, and/or give out pamph­lets you are most wel­come to do so and in fact we would really appre­ci­ate your pres­ence.

Sunday 18th Octo­ber – St Luke’s Patron­al Fest­iv­al:

On Sunday 18th Octo­ber at our 9.30am ser­vice we will be cel­eb­rat­ing our St Luke’s Patron­al Fest­iv­al with a spe­cial guest preach­er and former rect­or, The Very Rev’d Steph­en Wil­li­ams, Dean Emer­it­us of Christ­ch­urch Cathed­ral New­castle and known to a few long-stand­ing parish­ion­ers.

Pre-din­ner drinks and nibbles will be from 5.30 p.m. with enter­tain­ment by Car­ni­vale Batacuda Funk, fol­lowed by a catered main course (includ­ing veget­ari­an options) and won­der­ful desserts. The silent auc­tion bids will pro­gress dur­ing the night for some fine wines, spir­its and excit­ing finds.

Come dressed for the occa­sion by shop­ping for some­thing col­our­ful in the OpShop!

Cost $55 (Conc)-$75 but don’t hold back.

The church hall kit­chen upgrade is our major pro­ject for this year and we need your sup­port. For some weeks pri­or to the event there will be a guess­ing com­pet­i­tion run­ning with a major super prize and sub­sequent prizes.
