Flying Down to Rio Wardens’ Dinner: Thank You!
Our “Flying Down to Rio” dinner was a spectacular success, bringing together 73 attendees and raising vital funds for our much-needed kitchen renovation!
A massive thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and contributed.
Special thanks go to:
- The Fundraising Committee but especially to Brett Davies, for leading the organization, arranging the exuberant Batacuda Funk band and dancers, and providing the delicious dessert cakes.
- Kevin Chiew: For being a terrific MC, keeping everyone entertained with music and wit while the kitchen’s older ovens warmed the empanadas!
- The Reddy Family: For helping with extra kitchen cleaning, the Friday night setup, and a wonderful arrangement of fresh fruit for dessert. And especially for their Fundraiser raffle idea and finding sponsors providing the wonderful prizes.
- The Chiew Family: For the wine, soft drinks and table decorations, and Ruth Champion for the empanadas.
- Elizabeth Fleming & Brett Davies: For a thorough hall cleanout and set up on Friday, and to Michael Fleming for his invaluable kitchen help, and pack-down assistance.
- Tiffany Chiew & Ann Petersen: Tiffany for organizing and donating most of the Silent Auction items, and Ann for contributing the door prizes. Thanks also to Amrit MacIntyre & Brett Davies for Silent Auction items.
- Jennifer McGovern: for the colourful posters, menus, and Fundraiser ticket printing and Andrew Patterson for his photography.
- Nancy Cheng & the Cleanup Crew: For tackling the washing up and restoring the hall.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the company, food, wine, and entertainment, and it is likely that the amount raised exceeded $6,000.
THANK YOU for your generosity, time, and talent in supporting our parish life and kitchen renovation fund!
