NOTICES:

Parish Annual General Meeting (AGM) – Date Postponed

Due to certain issues arising in the parish, Fr Jeff in discussions with the Bishop, has asked that the AGM be postponed.  The new date will most likely be Sunday 3rd April 2022.  We are however still waiting for confirmation from the Archbishop.

At this AGM, the Parish Council, Wardens and Nominators will be elected.  There is no election of Synod Representatives since a Synod lasts three years and the 52nd Synod has another year to run.

There is a form available which gives notice of an intention to make a nomination.  Parishioners who wish to nominate another person for an office may complete the form and give it to a Warden.  The form requires the person being nominated to sign it as an indication of their consent to be nominated.

PLEASE NOTE: You must still be present at the meeting to nominate somebody else whether or not a form has been completed, but the person being nominated does not have to be present at the meeting so long as consent to the nomination has been given.

For reference, the above is taken from diocese website at https://www.sds.asn.au/general-meetings-parishioners?menu_id=12#8

Unfinished Business: Celebrating Anglican Women’s Ministry in Australia

A national conference to be held at Christ Church St Laurence, 812 George Street, Sydney, 16–18 September 2022

Thirty years after the Anglican Church in Australia ordained women priests, MOW is organising a conference that will honour those who fought for women’s ordination over many years and celebrate the courage and service of ordained women, be they deacons, priests, bishops or archbishops.

The conference will also challenge those Australian dioceses that, even now, are limiting or refusing to acknowledge women’s ordained ministry.

Further details, including the conference program and registration details, will be provided in due course.

Points for Thought and Discussion from WorkingPreacher.org

1. How does the metaphor of fruitfulness speak to you here and from other passages in the Bible? (Luke 13:6–9)

2. In what ways do you thirst? For what? What do God’s waters, wine and milk look like in your life? (Isa 55:1)

Lynne Baab

3. Do you have glimpses in your life of emotions and experiences like those in Psalm 63? When and where?
