Sunday 1st February — Fr John Bunyan will be celebrating his 90th birthday at 2 pm at St John’s Anglican Church Gordon, 754 Pacific Highway Gordon and we are all invited.  It will be a simple program of 7 Lessons, 7 Sonnets, 7 Songs with a small launch of his books. Bring no presents, but a gift to the Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza would be so very much appreciated.  This is also one of our ABM projects.  If you go, the church is within walking distance of Gordon Station; if you drive, parking may be found within local streets. Please bring a small plate of food if you can for afternoon tea.  Please let Fr John know via email to bunyanj@tpg.com.au or ring him on (02) 4627 2586.

The picture of three men on the winners’ podium after the men’s 200 metres final at the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Games is an enduring 20th Century image, still relevant today.

This film, directed and produced by Australian sprinter Peter Norman’s nephew, tells the story of the politics, and more profoundly, the faith behind the image. The film premiered at the 2008 Sydney Film Festival, winning the Audience Award for Best Australian Documentary.

Interval with espresso, prosecco and cheese, concluding at 5.30pm.
