NOTICES:

TODAY – Plan­ning meet­ing for Par­ish Retreat:    Fol­low­ing morn­ing tea there will be a plan­ning meet­ing in pre­par­a­tion for the par­ish retreat at the end of Feb­ru­ary.  If you would like to attend the retreat and help in plan­ning it, please stay after morn­ing tea and we will meet in the church for about 40 minutes.

 

The par­ish office will be closed until 9.15am on Tues­day 30th January.

 

OpShop 30-year cel­eb­ra­tion pens are avail­able in the foy­er for $2 each.

 

Palm Crosses Needed: Please remem­ber to bring in your palm crosses from last year.  We will burn these to make the ash on Shrove Tues­day for our Ash Wed­nes­day services.

Some Like It Hot (1959) opened to crit­ic­al and com­mer­cial suc­cess and remains one of the great Hol­ly­wood films.  Set in 1920s Pro­hib­i­tion-era Chica­go, two hard-up musi­cians wit­ness the shoot­ing of a police inform­er on the infam­ous St Valentine’s Day Mas­sacre.  To escape the Mafia, they dis­guise them­selves as women and flee to Miami with an all-female jazz band.  Famil­i­ar to many, it is a per­fect film for late Sum­mer in Sydney — Rot­ten Toma­toes call­ing it ‘A spry, quick-wit­ted farce that nev­er drags.’

You are invited to meet online with ABM and AID Exec­ut­ive Dir­ect­or, the Rev’d Dr John Deane, as we launch the 2024 Pro­ject Book. Togeth­er we will find out what God is doing and share with you how you and your par­ish can join with us in God’s mission.

We will also show­case the vari­ous resources we have avail­able to help your par­ish par­ti­cip­ate more fully in God’s mis­sion, nation­ally and glob­ally, through ABM.

Booked at the Old Mon­as­tery Stroud (Fri­day even­ing to Sunday after­noon).

 We are now tak­ing names for reser­va­tions.

The bed­rooms are nearly all single rooms with shared bath­rooms, and we will be self-catering.
