First Reading: Exodus 32.1–14                Psalm: 106.1–6, 20–24

Second Reading: Philippians 4.1–9          Gospel: Matthew 22.1–14

The Revd John Bunyan has a very limited number (30) of his latest book, Around The Broad Land: Prayers and Readings for the Circling Year.  It has 268 pages, with 500 Scripture passages (2/3rds AV and 1/3rd RSV-based & including 40 BCP psalms with annotations), 200 collects and other traditional prayers, simple forms of Matins & Evensong.  John has paid for the printing.

These books are numbered and signed, and are available for donations of at least $100 to send via ABM to the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem.

The money is for Al-Alhi Hospital, founded by CMS in 1882, and the only Christian hospital in Gaza, with no income from nor connection with the Hamas authorities.  Details of this small but very important hospital are on the diocesan web-site.  Even our small gifts will give encouragement to those who care for young and old, sick, wounded, traumatised, or dying, in very difficult circumstances, and show that our Church in the “Holy Land” is not forgotten.

A note from the Wardens in the event someone becomes seriously unwell at Church

This note is to assist everyone in the unfortunate event that one of us becomes unwell at Church to the extent that it could be serious, and in the worst case, requires an ambulance to be called.

First of all, it’s in all our best interests that we all take steps, whatever that might be for each of us as individuals, to be as well as possible when we come to Church.

Firstly, in the event one of us becomes so unwell as to faint or become unresponsive, we ask that you do not crowd around the person or their partner or family. Keep calm and carry on as they say.

Secondly, a Warden and/or Parish Councillor present will attend to the person and consult with any of you who have healthcare training or experience.

Thirdly, we will require your partner or family member to telephone 000 and to speak to the NSW Ambulance Service and to follow their instructions.

Fourthly, we will telephone the NSW Ambulance Service if your partner or family member does not wish to do so. The reason for this is that we cannot properly assess or care for any medical situation, especially a potential critical incident or emergency.

Fifthly, whilst awaiting the advice and/or attendance of the NSW Ambulance Service, we will tend to your immediate comfort.

Please note: if you are in receipt of an aged care pension, please carry your card with you as this will be required to be shown to prevent an ambulance charge.

Thank you all in advance for your understanding and cooperation in dealing with these situations.

Please do not hesitate to speak with one of the Wardens if you have any questions or comments.
